Wilma has a long history of caring with a background as a Registered Nurse for the last 27 years and a strong desire for individuals to function to the best of their abilities. She became interested in Bowen Therapy initially after seeking treatment for her own aches and pains (nursing, right?!), and found the therapy to be gentle and profoundly effective. She has undertaken training with various Master Bowen Trainers, and has Diploma Level Qualification. She has heartfelt interest in helping each individual to manage symptoms and alleviate pain, tension and stress, enabling and enhancing their overall well-being.

Wilma takes pride in taking the time to understand what each client needs to improve their well-being.

What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen Therapy is a type of bodywork that uses gentle, precise, and targeted moves over muscles, tendons, fascia and nerves to promote the body's natural healing processes. Bowen Therapy can create symmetry in the body through several mechanisms:
1. Fascia and Muscle Release: Bowen Therapy works on the fascia and muscle groups, helping to release tension and promote relaxation. By working on specific points in the body, practitioners aim to balance the muscular system, which in turn helps the body to achieve a more symmetrical posture and function.
2. Nervous System Stimulation: The gentle rolling moves of Bowen Therapy stimulate the nervous system, promoting relaxation and improving the body's ability to regulate itself. This can help address imbalances in the body and support a more symmetrical state.
3. Holistic Approach: Bowen Therapy views the body as a whole system and addresses multiple areas during a session. By treating the body in a holistic manner, the therapy aims to correct imbalances and bring different body parts into alignment, promoting overall symmetry.
4. Resetting Body Patterns: Bowen Therapy helps the body "reset" itself by interrupting and recalibrating the nervous system's response. This leads to changes in how the body holds tension or compensates for imbalances, gradually working towards improved symmetry.
People report positive experiences with the therapy, finding relief from pain and improvements in body alignment and posture.
